Sonic is all new and is intended to replace the Chevrolet Aveo. The 2012
Chevrolet Sonic is available in both a sleek, European-influenced
four-door sedan and a spunky two-door hatchback. Both configurations
incorporate four cylinder engines and five-speed manual or six-speed
automatic transmissions. Three trim levels are available for both the
sedan and the hatchback and along with the optional turbocharger offer a
number of customization possibilities for buyers. The
2012 Chevrolet Sonic offers buyers a choice of a 1.8 liter inline
four-cylinder or turbocharged intercooled DOHC 1.4 liter inline
four-cylinder engine; both offer 138 horsepower. The standard engine
provides 125 pound-feet of torque, while the turbo model boosts that to
148 pound-feet. The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic is available in either a
five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is
estimated to be around 28 miles per gallon for city driving and 40 miles
per gallon highway. |
